Bacon-wrapped Tater Tots

Last week I talked about being healthy because it’s a new year. I even gave you a healthier recipe to start the year off right. But that’s all over now because the Super Bowl is right around the corner. I know. Sucks, right? I mean how are you supposed to create a whole new you and eat healthier when the biggest football game of the year is just barely a month into the new year? I mean, all those burgers, beers and fried foods? There’s no way!

While I’d love to help you out and give you a nice healthy Super Bowl recipe, they’re hard to find. So, since I can’t give you healthy, I’ve decided to give you delicious! While it’s true you can obviously have both, this recipe isn’t. I mean, it’s tater tots wrapped up in a piece of bacon. There’s nothing healthy about it. But then again, do you really want healthy while you’re rooting for your team? Especially if they’re loosing? Of course not!

You want little tidbits of yumminess. Bites that you can pop in your mouth when you’re happy because your team is winning or again when you’re sad because you’re down a touchdown or two. That’s why you always see chips and dip, burgers, hot dogs, cheese, crackers, cupcakes, cookies… let’s be honest, there’s nothing really healthy here. But here’s the thing, all these things go really, really well with beer.

These little tater tots are no different. I mean, they’re cute little chunks of deep fried potato. They’re really glorified French fries. (Don’t tell anyone, but I actually think they’re better.) And we all know nothing goes better with fries and hot dogs and hamburgers. And while a pile of tater tots would be a big hit, imagine what would happen if you wrapped them in bacon! I mean, who doesn’t love bacon? It’s the perfect food. And when you take a perfect food and wrap it around another perfect food, you get an absolute masterpiece. A masterpiece that will be a hit at any party.
